Whether you just want to paddle recreationally and stay in shape, or whether you're looking to push your skills & compete in regattas, the Masters paddling program is open to all! For those wishing to compete, there are several Masters' Regattas and a National Championship that take place during the summer each year.
The Masters program is a great way to meet people and stay connected. Members of the Masters program at Maskwa are a close group, and like to get together after Thursday night practices to have a social night- new members always welcome!
The Masters Summer session offers beginner to advanced training 3x week in single, double, and four-person racing canoes and kayaks, plus war canoes (paddlers have access to the club's boats - you do not need to own your own). For beginners, the emphasis will be basic exercise and fun while developing skill levels and personal goals.
We also offer a Masters Summer War Canoe Only option, with practices weekly on Saturdays 7-8:30AM. There is also the opportunity to compete in CANMAS.
The Masters Winter session is open to paddlers & non-paddlers alike. A dryland (off-water) fitness program, the program focuses on individual fitness levels for all members, in a group setting. Training takes place 3x week.
